Who is HISLE ?

For more than 30 years, HISLE has been designing exceptional lighting fixtures that combine craftsmanship and innovation. Founded by Hervé Isle de Beauchaine and Marie de Foucauld, our family business embodies French excellence. Four key words define it: expertise, elegance, simplicity and modernity. Hisle has been a manufacturer from the outset, creating and handcrafting prototypes of all its lighting fixtures in its own workshop. It also has a unique network of French partners and suppliers. It all starts with a piece, a material, an idea and, finally, a model, a lamp. A proponent of a minimalist style, the designer pays particular attention to the geometry of shapes, the meticulousness of finishes and the nobility of the materials used. In his eyes, a luminaire embodies the balance between comfort and refinement.

The Singulières

With his unique pieces called LES SINGULIÈRES, designer Hervé Isle de Beauchaine seeks to create a unique emotion. He gives a second life to rare and exceptional pieces. “I use industrial pieces that were originally designed to be functional. It’s the way they are enhanced, while respecting their technical identity, that I work on and that creates that special emotion you feel when you look at a unique piece… Whether I’m designing a lamp, lighting a historic building in Lyon, a group of luxury villas in Ramatuelle or the office of the Director of the Odéon, the approach is always the same: I listen, I think and then I seize the opportunity. I’m an opportunist, and an opportunity can be the blue skies of the Mediterranean, a rare piece of wood, the nose of a Mirage or an exceptional industrial piece found in a metal shop!”
